Sony TV's longest running cult show 'CID' to go on an intermittent break

CID had completed 1546 episodes so far and will air its last episode on October 27,2018. Sony Entertainment Television has confirmed the news by issuing a statement.

Indian Television’s longest running cult show ‘CID’ will air its last episode on October 27, 2018. The show which has been running from past 20 years, features talented actors Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradhuman, Aditya Srivastav as Abhijeet and Dayanand Shetty as Daya, Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks and Narendra Gupta as Dr Salunkhe in lead roles. These characters received a lot of gratitude and applaud for their roles over the years.

Dialogues like, “Kuchh to gadbad hai Daya, kuchh to gadbad hai”, “Darwaza tod do Daya”, “Sir, lagata hai iska khoon hua hai”, Is laash ka muh to ab Salunke hi khulwayega, “Daya, Abhijeet, pata lagao, koi na koi suraag toh jaroor milega”,Freddy ise forensic lab main bhej do” will always be reminisced by loyal CID fandoms.

CID had completed 1546 episodes and will air its last episode this weekend. Sony Entertainment Television has confirmed the news by releasing a statement to media which read, “Having completed 20 years, CID, is the longest running cult show on Sony Entertainment Television. It has been a great journey so far, along with Fireworks Productions, and CID will now take an intermittent break starting 28th October 2018. The last episode of the show will be aired on 27th October 2018. The show will gear up for a renewed season with a lot more contextual cases keeping alive the thrill that the audience has experienced so far.”

Produced by Fireworks productions’ B.P. Singh, CID (Crime Investigation Department) commenced on April 29, 1997. This investigative crime series had solved end number of fictional and non-fictional cases on screen. The show has also got into the Limca Book of records and the Guinness Book of World Records in the year 2004 for shooting an episode of 111 minutes.

Along with ensemble cast, the crime based show also featured Shraddha Musale as Dr Tarika, Ansha Sayad as Purvi and Ajay Nagrath as Pankaj in pivotal roles.
