On Sunday, July 12, popular television actor Parth Samthaan took to Twitter to share the message of being tested positive for coronavirus. Currently, he plays Anurag Basu in Star Plus' show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, and upon knowing the news, producers of the show, Balaji Telefilms, stopped the shoot and have asked all the staff and crew members to get tested as per protocols.
He shared a message on social media platforms and wrote, “Hi guys ,I have tested Postive for covid 19 and I would urge and request everyone whose been with me in close promitixy over the last few days please go and get yourself tested . am in self quarantine and I thank BMC for all their support ,Please be safe and takecare!"
Producer Ekta Kapoor released a statement on behalf of the production house and shared a message on social media, which read, “All necessary precautions being taken, SOPs being followed. Health & safety comes first to us all at Balaji. Take care. Jai Mata Di!”
Besides this, the production house Balaji Telefilms also released an official statement and said, “We would like to inform various stakeholders that one of our talent from the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now receiving medical attention. Our first priority is to help protect our talent, production crew and employees. We are taking all the precautions detailed in the guideline. We were and will continue following all medical protocols set by the authorities and have implemented guidelines concerning social interactions, hygiene, travel, and visits to the sets.”
Several took to social media to wish him well and speedy recovery. Parth's co-star Hina Khan wrote, "You will be fine my friend. Godspeed! I am just a few buildings away."
On Saturday, July 11, Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan also tested positive for COVID-19. Following which, state Health Minister, Rajesh Tope shared similar news about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aradhya Bachchan's report.
