The 90's popular youth show 'Hip Hip Hurray' has completed 20 years since it first aired in 1998 on Zee TV. It showcased a bunch of 12th graders from DeNobili High School dealing with complications ranging from peer pressure, teenage problems, drug abuse, love troubles, academic stress and lots more but with a whole lot of fun, nonetheless.
The show’s concept was fresh and something new that dozens of shows later tried to recreate but could not accomplish the same success and fame. This youth-centric show showed an ample amount of comedy, drama & emotions that appealed to the audiences of every age-group.
Reminiscing about the show, Purab Kohli said, “Hip Hip hurry changed my life. It placed me in a career and made me do things I never imagined I would be doing. To be loved for doing something you really loved doing is a privilege I am grateful to have had.”
“Hip Hip Hurray was our second school. Literally! We learned so much being a part of this show and its makers. It gave us the platform explore ourselves and discover the actors within us. It has and will always be something I hold close to my heart," added Shveta Salve
Furthermore, director of the show, Nupur Asthana shared, “I feel blessed and shocked at the same time. That people still remember HHH so fondly and that younger generations also find it relevant. The fact that it resonates with youngsters across generations is overwhelming and extremely heart-warming.”
