According to railway officials, 70 per cent of its seats i.e. 501 seats out of 736 have already been booked with the majority of them being from Ahmedabad as its an early morning train.

Indian Railway's first privately operated train, Tejas Express is all set to be inaugurated on January 17, and it will be used for commercial purposes on January 19. It will run on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route and will be flagged off by Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani at 9:30 am from Ahmedabad and will reach Mumbai Central at 4:00 pm.

According to railway officials, 70 per cent of its seats i.e. 501 seats out of 736 have already been booked with the majority of them being from Ahmedabad as its an early morning train. Notably, the ticket fare for an executive coach ticket is ₹2,537, while an air-conditioned chair coach seat is available for ₹1,347. Tejas Express will commence its journey at 6.40 am from Ahmedabad and reach Mumbai Central at 01.10 pm. The train will run on six days of the week except for Thursdays.

The first Tejas Express is currently operating on the Delhi-Lucknow route. Notably, the passengers on Central line will be receiving the comfort of air-conditioned local trains as the first AC local train service will be operational between Thane and Panvel and Panvel and Vashi railway stations on the trans-Harbour section by the end of January 2020.
