Minister of Transport and President of ST Corporation, Adv. Anil Parab said that the reservation of these buses will start from July 16, 2021.

All buses will be sanitised before the journey. Moreover, all passengers will be required to wear masks during the journey and follow the COVID-appropriate behaviour, said MSRTC officials.

Each year during the 10-day Ganesh Utsav, thousands of people living in Mumbai return to their native villages in Konkan to celebrate the festival.

According to transport body officials, the staff will be working day and night under the supervision of senior ST officials at the bus stand to ensure the smooth flow of bus services. Also, vehicle repair teams will be deployed at various places on the Konkan highway.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that due to a hike in prices of petrol and diesel, the fares of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) are likely to go up as well.
