Four people - Sagar Sampat Chavhan (23), Saiprasad Manohar Chavhan (17), Manoj Deepak Chavhan (17) and Dattprasad Manohar Chavhan (20) - from one family died while crossing the railway tracks between Borivali and Kandivali.  

Sagar Chavhan and his family members were residents of Poisar, Kandivali. They were returning home from his native place, Kankavli. Around 5:30 am, they reached Kandivali’s Poisar area after boarding Borivali- bound train from Dadar. When the local stopped at a signal, all four of them got down on the tracks and tried crossing to the other side, and that's when they were hit by Churchgate-bound train. All the four men died on the spot.

Borivali railway station manager received the news of four people lying on the tracks. They were then transferred to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar hospital for post-mortem.

The police filed an accidental death report and informed their family members.
