The Railway administration of Maharashtra has reportedly taken action against 21 software through which various brokers book train tickets illegally.

Moreover, the Indian Railway Catering Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website is planning to make the Aadhar card, PAN card or passport link mandatory while reserving tickets in order to curb the issuing of illegal tickets and to prevent brokers from acting as the middleman. According to sources, the work to implement the same is in its final stages.

Meanwhile, even though the Mumbai Locals are currently ferrying people engaged in essential services only, several citizens have repeatedly refused to abide by the rules.

On the other hand, several people have been commuting on the suburban railway system with the help of fake identity cards.
