After explosive content was found in a State Transport (ST) Corporation bus, the Maharashtra government has grown attentive towards the security of its people. Accordingly, State Transport Minister Diwakar Raote provided a set of suggestions for the security of the people under which, he suggested that the government must install CCTV cameras in all the buses including the private buses.

He stated that the installation of the cameras will also assist the police to probe and monitor the security of the people on various occasions. For instance, the government has been eyeing buses which have been using them to deliver goods under the name of passenger buses.

The minister stated that if any ST driver is found conducting such a misdeed, he will be transferred to another district. If the defaulter is found committing the misdeed again, then the driver will be fired and the bus permit will be cancelled. 

He also mentioned that all the bus stops will consist of police stations. Accordingly, if suspicious object is found, then the people can inform the police about the finding and the item can be investigated.
