Following the protest of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) workers outside, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar's residence in Mumbai, on Sunday, April 10, night, Mumbai Police conducted searchers at advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte's, home. Sadavarte was arrested in connection with the protest, cited reports. 

Based on accounts, Sadavarte claims to represent the MSRTC staffers who have been on strike since November last year. While Sadavarte was not present at the protest site, he was detained on Saturday, April 9, for questioning his role in instigating the workers. 

The Mumbai Police was quoted by the news agency elaborating on how they were alerted over MSRTC workers outside Pawar's residence. The alert was issued by the Special Branch on April 4.

It has been reported that on Saturday, a Mumbai Court sent the advocate into police custody for two days in connection with the protest. Apart from this, nearly 109 MSRTC staffers were sent to judicial custody. 

In addition to this, the Gamdevi police have been investigating the rioting occurrence outside Pawar's home, Silver Oak. The authority will now be taking assistance from the cyber cell to peruse call data records as well as social media chats of those protesting. This is reportedly being done to assess if they were instigated by the organization or political party. 

On Friday, April 8, following the protest, the Gamdevi police arrested 110 protestors entailed 23 women and Sadavarte, mentioned narratives. The police were quoted in reports elaborating on how nearly 104 people were immediately arrested after the mishap from Malabar Hill. Later in the night, six others were nabbed. 

Till Monday, April 11, 109 MSRTC staffers have been sent to judicial custody while Sadavarte has been sent to police custody.
