Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) had implemented the historic new fares from July 9 and since then the number of commuters have been increasing drastically. The brainchild of Yuva Sena Chief Aditya Thackeray and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the minimum BEST fare is now ₹5 for up to 5 km.

On Monday, July 15, BEST recorded the highest ridership in 3 years with over 25 lakhs people commuting in it. These are great signs for BEST as people could be seen queuing up for a bus. The BEST has further planned to increase its fleet with over 1000 AC buses and further intend to have a fleet of total 6000 buses catering to the needs of 5 million people daily.
The 15 fare slabs had been reduced to 4 and the revised pricing are as follows:

Notably, the total number of passengers who travelled on the BEST bus after the implementation is over 4.2 million and the revenue generated is over ₹2.12 crore.
