On Thursday, March 3, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertook the decision to introduce, overnight buses for the city from Monday, March 7, reports stated. These buses will reportedly cater to those working late hours in Mumbai.
An official was quoted in accounts elaborating on how the buses will ply at a frequency of one hour and will attempt to cover as many areas where people work late hours. The official added that in accordance with the feedback, they will operate more services during the late hours.

Based on narratives, BEST general manager Lokesh Chandra affirmed the said decision. Chandra reportedly highlighted that they will ply them from midnight to 5 am. He believes this will assist those working in the hotel industry, amongst others.
According to reports, the night bus route will entail the Mahim bus station to the Colaba bus depot on route number 1 from midnight until 4 am. It will have a frequency of over an hour.
On the other hand, the buses will ply from Sion to Colaba, Mahim to Borivali west station. This will be through the airport which they hope will address the airport’s staff. Similarly, one from Sion to Mulund west and Sion to Backbay depot will conclude its services at 5 am highlighted accounts.
