According to the latest reports, users of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will now receive alerts on any alterations, diversions or any details in bus routes that affects them in the notification tab of the recently launched Chalo App.
Based on accounts, Lokesh Chandra, BEST General Manager elaborated on how the notifications will be accessible on the app too. Additionally, until recently, the app was only available to Android users. This is because it was only accessible on the Play Store.
However, Chandra has reportedly added that soon the app will be within reach of IOS users too. He claimed that it is set to be launched in a day or two and they are awaiting approval from the Apple company.
On the other hand, it was only recently revealed that commuters can travel by all public transports such as Local trains, BEST buses and metro with a single travel card. The National Common Mobility Card facility will be made available for easy travel from the end of February.
In other developments, all bus e-tickets are set to be linked with the universal pass that acts as proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination. This is done since BEST has linked its Chalo app with the universal pass.
The Chalo app has been gaining traction owing to its state-of-the-art facilities that include mobile tickets and passes, live bus tracking, live arrival time, live crowd indicator and tap to pay smart card.
