Each day ten people die while commuting in Mumbai local trains and most of these incidents happen when the passengers are trying to catch the train leaving the platform. In order to deter such incidents, the Indian Railways has decided to install ‘blue’ lights on the train’s door.

The ‘blue’ lights will help the commuters to know that the train is leaving the platform and will help reduce the incidents.

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed in a video tweet, “A blue light is being installed on the doors of Mumbai local trains, for the passengers. This will guide the commuters that the train is leaving the platform and will help reduce the accidents.”

The blue indicator will help the commuter to understand that the train has started and is leaving the platform which will eventually help reduce the accidental deaths which happen while catching the running train.
