In a major relief to passengers commuting to Mumbai through airways, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has started operating buses on the three prominent routes in the city.
Moreover, they can reserve a seat in the city’s 15 BEST airport service buses before landing in Mumbai or entering the airport through Chalo App. This came into effect from today, September 9.
Passengers can enjoy there hassle free travel by following five simple steps:
1. Download the BEST Chalo App through Google Play Store and search the route no.881 for Backbay. 882 for Vashi and 884 for Thane on the top search bar.
2. Select the "Reserve Seat' option on the screen after selection of route.
3. Select the pickup and drop point on the screen."
4. Select the times slot and make the payment.
5. Track your Bus and board without any hassle.
Releasing an official statement, BEST shared: “The transport undertaking has started three air conditioned Bus Routes from Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (T2) viz, Airport 1 From Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (T2) upto Backbay Depot South Mumbai, Airport 2 - From Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) upto Jalwayu Vihar / Kharghar via Palm Beach Road, Airport 4- From Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (T2) upto Cadbuary Junction/ Thane through Electric Buses.”
Routes for now:
>> Route 881: CSIA Terminal 2 - Backbay bus depot
>> Route 882: CSIA Terminal 2 - Jalvayu Vihar, Kharghar
>> Route 884: CSIA Terminal 1A - Cadbury Junction, Thane
Earlier, the services were available just on one route, two more routes were added later. Frequency of the services is 45 minutes. According to the BEST officials, till Thursday, seats were allocated on the first come, first get basis. But now, passengers can book their seats at least seven days in advance according to the time slot.
