With an aim to improve the service of the commuters travelling in local trains, Central Railway (CR) has installed LED indicators at various railway stations. CR’s PRO S K Jain said that the CR has replaced old indicators with new ones at 35 suburban railway stations.


The CR started working on it in the month of May wherein in the first phase, new LED indicators were placed at 13 suburban stations. So far, LED indicators were placed at Ambernath, Badlapur, Vitthalwadi, Shelu, Bhivpuri Road, Shahad, Titwala, Kasara, and Dombivli. LED indicators have been set up at CSTM, Kurla and Ghatkopar railway station and are expected to be completed by year-end.

In second phase, more LED indicators will be placed at 22 suburban stations such as Kalwa, Mumbra, Diva, Thakurli, Koparkhairne, Thane, Matunga, Sion, Vidyavihar, Vikhroli, Kanjur Marg, Nahur, Bhandup, Mulund, Ulhasnagar,Neral, Karjat, Vasind, Asangaon, Atgaon, Khardi and Khadavli. It is believed these indicators will be placed by next year March.
