On January 3, Commuters on Central line faced difficulty with local trains running late by almost an hour. The disruption in the local train service was caused due to an overhead wire breaking at Ambivali station due to which railway stations on Central line were crowded with office-goers who had to wait during peak hours.
The overhead wire broke down after a truck crashed into the gate of a railway crossing which affected the electric supply of the overhead wire. Upon knowing the incident, railway officials immediately took measures to repair the overhead wire and ensure the restoration of services.
