Mumbai: CR Temporarily Halts Platform Ticket Sales
SHARES

Due to the increased number of train travellers during the summer holidays, Central Railway has announced temporary restrictions on the sale of platform tickets to effectively manage the crowd. As part of these measures, platform ticket sales will be suspended at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Kalyan, and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in the Mumbai division, as well as at Pune station in the Pune division.

However, divisional officers and station supervisors have been authorised to issue platform tickets under specific circumstances — only to senior citizens, children, illiterate individuals, sick persons, and those accompanying women passengers.

To ensure passengers are well-informed, Central Railway has instructed that clear information regarding these restrictions and exceptions be communicated through prominent notices at booking windows and frequent announcements via the station's public address system.
