Central Railway had installed more than 500 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) across CR stations. However, many of them stopped functioning. A few days back Mumbai Live had done a story on the same (Read the story here - ATVM Woes For Commuters). This was mainly done to save the commuters time of standing in a long queue. However, many machines stopped functioning leaving commuters in the lurch.
The CR then took the cognizance of Mumbai Live’s report and have decided to install 110 new ATVM machines at CST, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane, Diva, Dombivali, Kalyan, Badlapur, Ambernath, Wadala, Chembur, Vashi. “Along with installing new machines, we will be replacing old machines with new ATVM machines,” said A K Singh, CR PRO.
