As India is a pious country, every festival is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. Many people travel to their native place in order to celebrate festivals. One such festival is Diwali, where people travel to their native place or plan an outing.

In order to make commute easier, Central Railway will be running 38 special long-distance trains for the upcoming festival. These express trains (long-distance) will be running between CSTM-Patna-Nagpur, LTT-Sawantwadi, Sainagar Shirdi, Thivim and Pune-Manduadih routes.
These special express trains will run during Diwali festival on Konkan route
- From November 5 to 19, every Monday night, 01037 LTT-Sawantwadi special express train will depart LTT around 1:10 and will reach Sawantwadi the next day around 1:20 pm.
- Between November 5-19, 01038 Sawantwadi-LTT special express train will depart Sawantwadi around 2:10 pm and will reach LTT the other day around 00:20
- Between November 2-16, every Friday, 01045 LTT-Thivim will depart LTT around 1:10 from LTT and will reach Thivim around 1:50 pm

Special express trains to run on Nagpur and Shirdi routes
- Between November 8-22, every Thursday night, 02031 CSTM-Nagpur special express train will depart CSTM around 11:55 pm and will reach Nagpur the other day around 1:30 pm
- Between November 8-22, every Thursday night, 01135 LTT-Sainagar Shirdi special express train will depart LTT around 00:45 and will reach Nagpur the other day around 7:30 pm
- Between November 2-16, every Friday, 02053 CSTM-Patna superfast special express train will depart CSTM around 2:20 pm
