Soon, commuters traveling on Central Railway will get to commute in AC local trains. According to CR officials, CR is working on local train’s timetable and it is estimated that by next year, AC local will be introduced.

Initially, the AC local was scheduled to run on CR. However, as the foot-over bridge that runs above railway tracks was lower in height between Kurla and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM), AC local was started on Western Line instead of CR on December 25, 2017.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) will be transforming regular local trains into AC local trains. By next year, more 10 AC locals will be introduced on the CR line. It is believed that these AC trains will arrive in January 2019 but the route has not yet been decided.
