City ST bus depot set to get facelift

Mumbai - Bus depots in the state will soon be upgraded. 13 bus depots from Mumbai are among those that will be modernised, including the depot at Nancy Colony. 
State transport minister Diwakar Raote announced that tenders for the modernisation of depots in Panvel, Shivaji Nagar- Pune, Aurangabad, Nanded, Akola, Morbhavan, and Nagpur have already been floated. Mini theatres will be set up at rurual bus depots for passengers' entertainment as well, and Marathi films will be aired here.
The depots will be converted into bus ports, in which the buses will be parked in special bays. Private companies, that will be handed over the charge of these modernised depots, will be able to construct and run commercial complexes inside the depots, and these will be operated on a revenue share model with the state government.
