The Central Railway traffic was disrupted in the morning as Konkan Kanya Express faced technical glitch as soon as it departed from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The train was stranded on the tracks of the fast train which affected the local trains.

As the incident occurred during peak hours when commuters were heading to their workplaces, the traffic on the fast line was disrupted drastically. The authorities are yet unsure of how much time the repair work will take.
Notably, the Konkan Kanya Express is operated by the Konkan Railways and starts from CSMT to Madgaon in Goa. It covers the distance of 580km in 13.25 hours and halts at 18 stations.
