Dopers risk thousands of lives for just Rs 2000

Mumbra police have arrested five persons on suspicion of sabotage on rail property to effecting a loss of a large number of people in rail accidents. It is said that the accused are drug and liquor addicts. The arrests were made in connection with an incident dating over two months back wherein a piece of railway track weighing 500 kg was placed horizontally on the Diva-Panvel track. 

The investigation for the same was carried out by National Investigation Agency and Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Mumbra police. The investigative agencies were in search of the accused behind this incident and they succeeded in nabbing the culprits after two-and-a-half months.

Thane Police Commissioner, Param Beer Singh said that the five accused arrested are identified as Danish Akbar Shaikh, Suraj Dinesh Bhosle, Mohammed Nasim Shaikh, Nazir Sayyed and Jayesh Pare. The accused did this job for only Rs 2000. Police are searching for the main accused Maula Makandar.

On January 25, a 15-feet iron track weighing 500 kg was placed horizontally on the Diva-Panvel railway route. A major mishap was averted due to the alertness of loco pilot Hitendra Kumar and assistant loco pilot Hitesh Chinchole of the Madgaon-Dadar Janshatabdi Express.

Though Mumbra police have taken action, in this case, the GRP still has no evidence about the incident. Now, police have tightened the noose around the culprits.
