Petrol and Diesel Price hikes have been a constant trouble for people nationwide. However, since the last eight days, prices of petrol and diesel are increasing daily. On Thursday, the price of petrol spiked to Rs 85.33. Now the impact of the increase in prices of petrol and diesel has reached the transport services. Due to this, there has been an increase in the prices of vegetables and fruits in Maharashtra, including Mumbai.

Fruits and vegetables are marketed to Mumbai from all across the state and the way to bring them to the market is, transport! Due to the expensive transport service, the number of trucks arriving in the city has decreased leading to the decreased inward flow of vegetables and fruits.

However, the major issue is that the increased heat and changing environment results to an adverse condition of vegetables and fruits. The farmers, with the fear of their crops decaying, are forced to sell the crops in the market despite facing losses.

The increased prices of petrol and diesel has cornered everybody’s mind, including the farmers as well as middle-class people and has left them pondering, “How long will the prices increase?”
