The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will get financial assistance from Germany in the form of loan for 'Wadala - Thane - Kasarvadavali Metro 4' and ‘Kasarvadavali - Gaymukh Metro 4A' lines. Recently, the Metropolitan Commissioner had a positive discussion with the officials of KFW Bank, which provides loans in Germany. Therefore, loans of around INR 4,189 crore are likely to be available soon. From this loan, various works such as signals, electrical systems etc. will be done on the 'Metro 4' and 'Metro 4A' lines, as reported by Loksatta.

The MMRDA is implementing various projects in Mumbai and Mumbai metropolitan region like metro, sea route, sea bridge, elevated road, subway, flyover etc. These projects cost crores of rupees and 'MMRDA' is raising funds in the form of loans for these projects.

At present many projects are being implemented by taking loans from ‘JICA’. In 2019, Germany's leading KFW Bank had shown interest in financing and lending for multi-purpose projects including Metro 4 and Metro 4A. An agreement was also reached between the state government and the bank on November 2, 2020. About INR 4,189 crores loan has been fixed for 'Metro 4' and 'Metro 4A' projects. Until now this loan was not available but now this loan will be available soon.
