Mumbai – The State government has decided to run special buses named ‘Tejaswini’ for women passengers. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday. But this public transport bus service will be run only in five municipal corporation areas (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali and Nagpur). The government will provide 300 Tejaswini buses to the transport department and the decision was previously announced in the budget for 2016-17. All the seats in these buses will be reserved only for women and the bus service will be provided between 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 9 pm and ticket rates will be as usual.
