Here is a safe way to reach Shirdi

Here is a safe way to reach Shirdi

I remember it was February when everyone around me started talking about a certain virus. Not even in the wildest of my dreams did I think for once that this not-so novel coronavirus will soon spread to the rest of the world and lock us all in for months on end.

Lost. Scared. Paranoid. Disappointed. Bored. Life inside the concrete cage was nothing short of an emotional roller coaster. All of this made me wonder how I never fully appreciated the little joys of life like stepping out for a walk, enjoying the sun, listening to the sound of birds chirping, or just appreciating my freedom. Life changed completely in two months. Topsy turvy is how I would like to define it as.

In some of the most difficult and trying times, people seek refuge in God. Feeling aimless day after day, I longed for some spiritual guidance. Therefore, as soon as temples opened their doors to the people after 3 months of lockdown, I had to visit Shirdi for some peace and quiet. Thus I began looking for a reliable taxi service with a reasonable Mumbai to Shirdi taxi fare. This is where I found Savaari Car Rentals.

A road trip during COVID outbreak

Staying inside is safe, but also takes a toll on one’s mental health. It was a relief to see the city opening up again after three months of covid induced lockdown. I decided to visit my parents in Pune as soon as the inter-state travel ban was lifted. I booked Savaari’s convenient Mumbai to Pune car rental to reach home safe and sound.

It is a relief to see a car rental company so dedicated to helping travelers get safe transport. Savaari very transparently mentioned their sanitization process - the safety precautions they want their customers to follow, what their drivers do in order to ensure the safety of the person riding with them as well as how each of their cars are sanitized before and after every trip.

Needless to say, it was a safe, smooth ride and I was home in 2 hours.

Pune to Shirdi

My mother and I decided to head to Shirdi the next day. We covered the Pune to Shirdi distance in under 4 hours since the roads were deserted.

Upon reaching the safe haven of Sai Baba, it finally felt like I was home. An epitome of spirituality and simplicity, Shirdi which otherwise bustles with people coming from different corners of the world to my surprise was much deserted this time. With boards put up all across the temple asking us to strictly follow social distancing, immediately made us comfortable with our decision to come here.

While we missed the Kakad aarti which is held every day at 5 am, we were just happy to be sitting inside the temple complex and enjoying the peace and serenity of a place we have been long deprived of.

Even though this trip was very different from our earlier ones, it was a relief to get a glimpse of Baba’s idol and sitting on the marble floor with the prasad while soaking in the spirituality of the place certainly gave me the strength to get through some of the darkest times humanity has seen.

We went back home hopeful, positive and refreshed with life. Thanks, Savaari for not just ensuring the physical safety of your riders but also their mental well being.
