Maharashtra government, in a recent decision, announced new regulations for motorists in the state, and as per reports, these rules are aimed at making a big difference to daily commuters. It is said that the government has decided to eliminate many hassles through these rules, eventually making things easy with the help of technology.

Under the new rules issued by the government, officials will be able to issue e-challans through the portal. Besides this, one can also check the validity of the vehicle, and the other related documents electronically. Moreover, with this move, commuters can also ensure that no police officer demands a physical copy of the same, hence carrying in person isn't needed anymore.

One can now carry a digitised version of documents like driving license, registration certificate, insurance papers, etc. and can upload the same on Digilocker or MTransport Portal.

Furthermore, for the benefit of the government and concerned departments, authorities have decided that the information related to revoked and disqualified driving licenses will also be updated on the web portal, and this move will help the authorities to monitor the drivers' behaviour, when in need.

With an aim to add more benefits, the government is also considering on removing restrictions over using mobiles to find directions during travel, and it is said that the same will benefit commuters as mobile will be allowed only for maps while driving.
