The State Transport bus workers across the state have called a strike with a demand to increase their wages from Thursday midnight. Owing to the strike, all ST buses have been stationed in bus depots across the state. The situation is same at Mumbai’s Parel ST bus depot as not a single bus has left the bus depot.

Since many days, the ST bus workers have been demanding salary hike and other demands to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). This strike has affected the services across the state.

Commuters who are facing the brunt of the strike are clueless about the same.

When we came to Parel ST bus depot, we saw all buses stationed and ST bus workers on strike. The Mumbai-Murud ST bus has not yet left the depot. If we had information beforehand, we would have planned otherwise,” said Yogesh Trivedi, commuter.

Along with this, stone pelting cases were reported at Thane and Mumbai Central bus depot. Also, a press conference will take place around 10:00 AM regarding the strike.
