Central Railway every Sunday announces a mega block to check weakened signals and to carry out maintenance work. However, this time, CR has announced a mega block, not for maintenance work but to do away with waste which is as close to the 30-storey building, lying unattended on CR tracks.
It is being said that a coach of a cargo train got derailed on Wednesday due to a heap of garbage lying on tracks. Railway officials are investigating the same.
Every day, CR runs four special trains to pick up waste and this very train is used to fill up tracks at Mankhurd-Vashi and Diva.
