Mumbai Metro to expand its off-peak services by 44 additional trips

The expansion of train trips has been made in view of the ongoing festive season. Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) will be extending 44 trips on weekdays and will assist more than 66,000 commuters.

The Mumbai Metro has been well received by the public and become a reliable source of transportation. In order to assist people during the ongoing festive season, Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) has decided to expand its services by 44 daily journeys on weekdays. The announcement about the same was made on a couple of days ago.

The Mumbai Metro operates between Ghatkopar and Versova with 396 trips usually between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm on the route during weekdays. Also, the rail service will bring down the waiting time for a train from eight minutes to five minutes.

The Mumbai Metro spokesperson stated that with the ongoing festival, many commuters along with their families are expected to travel. Therefore, the rail service has been expanded in order to put forward Metro as a reliable means of transport.

Earlier, Mumbai Metro had started the trial runs of the trains on an increased frequency from September 19 but the full-fledged services are expected to begin from September 24. There will be 44 extra trips and will see the footfall of more than 66,000 customers.

Last year, Mumbai Metro had operated around 1,30,000 train trips and had been marked with a 99.9 per cent punctuality rate and 100 per cent train availability.
