MMRC axes more than 100 trees for Metro-3 work

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is cutting trees for Metro 3 project in Aarey. According to the information, it is revealed that MMRC has axed more than 100 trees at three hectares of land in Aarey Carshed. Through the satellite image, Vanshakti Sangathan has exposed this act of MMRC. In this case, along with the BMC, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, CM Devendra Fadnavis has also complained to the forest authorities. The information was shared by Stalin Dayanand, Director of the Vanashakti Project.

Metro-3 work has been stretched at three hectares land in Aarey Carshed. Cutting of trees has been opposed by the environmentalists and other institutions. For past several days, they have been fighting for the government for this. Bombay High Court has banned the cutting of trees for Metro 3, while on the other hand, MMRC has not got any necessary orders in connection with this. 

In fact, the three-hectare land of Aarey Carshed is covered from all the four sides. Due to which the surrounding people do not get any information about what is going inside. The VanShakti Sansthan has also introduced satellite image of 2000, 2016 and 2017. In response to MMRC, Vanshakti has sent a complaint to Devendra Fadnavis
