MMMOCL likely to operate and maintain the Navi Mumbai Metro line

Upon receiving no response from bidders for the Navi Mumbai Metro line, CIDCO may seek help from MMRDA owned MMMOCL to maintain and operate the proposed metro line which would connect Belapur and Pendhar.

After receiving no tenders to operate and maintain the Navi Mumbai Metro line, officials have decided that he same may be taken over by MMRDA owned Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Limited (MMMOCL). The authority was initially set up for the functioning of Metro rail network in Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Discussions regarding the Navi Mumbai Metro line is being considered and a decision is not yet confirmed.

The proposed Metro line was flagged off on September 12  and connects Belapur and Pendhar. The construction of this 11-station project, costing around ₹3,064 crore was taken over by CIDCO.

Talking about the same, an official confirmed that CIDCO had floated a tender, but received no response, basis which the operations and maintenance may be assigned to MMMOCL. However, it is also said that the corporation is currently looking at hiring staff since it is facing manpower crunch.

The final decision would be taken in few more months, however, CIDCO and MMMOCL are very positive about the same. Discussion regarding the ratio revenue between both the associations is being considered currently.
