On Wednesday around 3:45 PM, a 60-year-old man fell unconscious on the tracks at Mulund station. But thanks to the motorman's alertness, the accident was averted.

Bharat Chavhan was walking on platform No 2 at Mulund station and suddenly he fell unconscious on the railway tracks. Meanwhile, a slow CSTM-bound train which left from Dombivali was arriving on platform No. 2.

But when the motorman Sri K Subramanyam saw Chavhan on the tracks, he applied the breaks immediately, eventually stopping the train. He got down on the tracks and with the help of other passengers, lifted him up.

Railway officials have taken the man’s custody and are trying to locate his relatives. It was the motorman’s alertness which saved a senior citizen’s life.
