Since January 1, 2024, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has seen a positive response to its new online ticket reservation system. From January 1 to May 20, 2024, about 12.92 lakh tickets were sold from this system. This is a significant spike from the 9.75 lakh tickets sold during this period last year.
Reports suggested that the e-registration system now issues 10,000 tickets daily. The online reservation service is available on MSRTC's official website. Travelers can also book tickets using the MSRTC Bus Reservation app on their phones.
The new system has made booking tickets easy and convenient. Many issues in the previous system were also fixed.
Last month, it was also reported that the technical issues caused the MSRTC server to go down. Because of this, passengers had to visit ST depots in person to book tickets in the summer heat.
