Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that 53 percent dearness allowance will be paid to employees of the State Transport Corporation on their basic salary from June 2025, instead of 46 percent.


Corporation employees have the option to choose between the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana or the Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Medical Reimbursement Scheme. The Deputy Chief Minister has also announced the decision to implement an accident insurance cover of INR 1 crore and to provide free travel passes to retired employees for 12 months instead of nine.


Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said, people should get the expected good service through the ST bus service, which is the lifeline for the common man. Along with the buses, the bus stands should also be clean. Priority should be given to the cleanliness of toilets and rest rooms.

The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to focus on starting cargo services through ST. Saying that bus stands should be turned into bus ports, study how ST can recover from its losses. Eknath Shinde said that efforts should be made to change the perspective on ST.


At this time, representatives of the organisations made various demands. Increase in ST's income, fuel savings, etc. were also discussed. The employees of the corporation are being paid 46 percent dearness allowance on their basic salary. Dearness allowance will be paid at the rate of 53 percent on the basic salary from the salary of June 2025. He said that a decision regarding the arrears of dearness allowance will be taken after looking at the availability of funds.


Cashless medical benefits of up to INR 5 lakh have been provided to employees under the combined scheme of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Along with this, the Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Medical Reimbursement Scheme has also been launched. The employees have been given the option to choose either of these schemes.


Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that employees who have retired from ST service and their wives will be given free travel passes for a year on ST. This will benefit about 35 thousand retired employees.
