As the lifeline of Mumbai, the local trains, have been closed off for the regular people, the MSRTC Shivshahi are to start ferrying people across Mumbai from Monday, October 12.
The ST Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to run air-conditioned buses from Kalyan, Thane to Mantralaya. Moreover, during the peak hours, everyone will be able to travel in these Shivshahi buses; the government employees as well as the ones working in private offices.
There has been a lot of stress on the municipal transport service as well as the ST in the Mumbai metropolitan area since the coronavirus-induced lockdown. Therefore, in view of the growing congestion, the number of ST buses running in the Mumbai metropolis is being gradually increased to make the journey easier.
For the first time, ST corporation has started running air-conditioned Shivshahi buses from Vasai, Virar, Nalasopara, Dombivali, Thane to Mantralaya. While 23 Shivshahi buses are running at present, six more Shivshahi buses are being added. Moreover, four new Shivshahi's are to run from Kalyan to Mantralaya to Kalyan, two more buses from Thane to Mantralaya to Thane from this week. At present, 2 Shivshahi buses are running from Thane to Mantralaya to Thane.
