On Monday, December 20, evening, an union of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Kanishth Shreni ST Karmachari Sangh, that had given the call for the indefinite strike, called of its protest, highlighted reports. This is believed to have transpired post comprehensive discussions with the state transport minister and MSRTC chairman, Anil Parab.

However, based on accounts, certain other unions and workers stated that they would continue being on strike. The mentioned union's president, Ajay Kumar Gujar who was also a respondent in a court case stated that the minister has promised to look into all the the demands. 

This according to him includes the financial assistance to families of those employees who committed suicide as well as to bring the remuneration at par with that of the state government workers. Gujar added that his union is adamant on their demand for the merger with the Maharashtra government. 

However, he remarked that they will withdraw from the strike with the union appealing in a higher court on the issue regarding the merger, mentioned narratives. 

Accounts claim that the said union received a written assurance on demands from Parab. On the other hand, Gujar also appealed to the employees to resume operations by Tuesday, December 21. The staffers have been on strike since October 28, with the strike intensifying on November 9 after operations at all 250 bus depots were hit.
