Days after Mumbai airport officials resumed the flight operations from Terminal 1 (T1), a passenger traffic of 94,716 was reported in seven days between October 13 and October 20.

According to reports, in the first week of operations at T1, 46,187 passengers arrived and 48,529 passengers departed between October 13 and October 20.

The terminal, which has four low-cost airlines operating at present, saw 730 flights being operated during the same week.

With this, the airport marked its highest passenger movement since pandemic.

In the first week of T1 resuming operations, CSMIA saw a passenger traffic of 57,382 during weekdays and 37,334 on weekends.

New Delhi, Goa and Bengaluru destinations contributed to the highest passenger traffic with 19%, 29% and 20% respectively during the week from T1.

Meanwhile, CSMIA recently recorded 91,904 passenger movement on October 17, 2021, in a single day. The Mumbai airport is also known to be one of the world’s busiest single crossover runway.

The airport also saw a total of 75,944 domestic and international passengers travelling through Terminal 2 (T2) with 37,315 passengers at arrival and 38,629 passengers at departure on the same day.

In January 2020, the last (pre-Covid) per day passenger record was seen when CSMIA handled a total of 1,38,999 passengers (domestic as well as international).
