Mumbai: BEST to run additional buses on the occasion of Mahashivratri

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, the BEST initiative has decided to run additional buses in some parts of Mumbai for the convenience of passengers. Considering the number of passengers visiting the ancient caves at Kanheri Caves, a total of six additional buses will be plied on this route, limited to bus route number 188.


A total of six extra buses will be run between Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Kanheri Caves from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm on Friday. Also, regular bus services will continue to operate between Borivali Railway Station (East) and Kanheri Caves. Bus Inspectors and Traffic Officers will be posted at crowded places especially Sanjay Gandhi National Park Entrance, Ellora Chowki (Borivali Station-East) and Kanheri Cave to guide passengers.

Additionally, for the convenience of devotees visiting the Shiva temple at Babulnath in South Mumbai, a total of six additional buses will be operated on bus route no. 57, 67 and 103. Traffic officers and bus inspectors will be appointed to guide the devotees at Babulnath temple. The BEST initiative has appealed to the devotees to take advantage of these extra bus services.
