The high-voltage match will be played at the historic Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. Anticipating heavy movement across South Mumbai, authorities have decided to run additional metro services on both up and down routes throughout the day and until 11:59 pm to avoid traffic congestion.
The fully underground Aqua Line spans 33.5 km from Cuffe Parade to Aarey Colony, covering 27 stations. Stations such as Churchgate, Vidhan Bhavan, Hutatma Chowk, and CSMT are located close to Wankhede Stadium, offering quick and convenient last-mile connectivity for cricket fans.
In a major relief for spectators, the last metro from Churchgate will depart at 11:59 pm, ensuring that fans can return home safely and comfortably after the match on March 5 without rushing.
This special metro arrangement is part of Mumbai’s broader traffic and transport planning for the World Cup semi-final. The city is gearing up for the crucial clash at one of cricket’s most iconic venues.
