Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally inaugurated the project of redevelopment of 554 railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Mon (26 Feb). On this occasion, the Prime Minister also unveiled the foundation stones for the construction of 1585 road over bridges as well as underground corridors. Prior to the inauguration ceremony, a programme was organised by the Central Railway at Byculla Railway Station in Mumbai. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais presided over the programme.

 
The Governor thanked the Prime Minister for including 56 railway stations and 192 Over bridges and underground passes in Maharashtra under the renovation project. The Governor also presented certificates to the winners of Drawing and Essay writing competitions.


In the last ten years, efforts have been made to connect every state and district of India by rail. Therefore, the Governor congratulated the Railways saying that railways are playing an important role for unity and national integration.




On this occasion, certificates were awarded to the winners of the drawing and essay writing competitions organized for children. Guardian Minister of Mumbai Deepak Kesarkar, General Manager of Central Railway Ram Karan Yadav were among those present.
