There is good news for railway passengers travelling between Mumbai and Pune. Now the Mumbai-Pune train journey is going to be even smoother. Efforts are being made by the Central Railway Administration to speed up train travel between both the cities of Mumbai and Pune.


The Central Railway has proposed to construct two new lines Karjat to Talegaon and Karjat to Kamshet to connect the two cities of Mumbai and Pune and to reduce travel time at Lonavala Ghat. Due to the new route, mail and express will be able to reach Pune directly without going through Lonavala Ghat. Importantly, the speed of the railway will also increase due to this new route. Along with this, Central Railway will be able to run more trains on Mumbai-Pune route.

The new Mumbai-Pune railway line will also save travel time. This train travel time will be saved by one hour. That means if it takes you 3 hours to reach Pune from Mumbai, then with the new route you can reach Pune in just two hours. If the new line is opened, trains and express trains will be able to run at a speed of 110 km per hour on this line.


What will be the benefit of the new way?

The new Mumbai-Pune railway line will reduce travel time. The ups and downs and turns in the ghat from Mumbai to Pune will be reduced which means the train will be smoother. Speed of mail and express will increase. Along with this, the number of trains between Mumbai and Pune will increase.
