The total number of passengers on 'Dahisar - Andheri Paschim Metro 2A' and 'Dahisar - Gundvali Metro 7' routes has crossed 15 crores. At present, two lakh 60 thousand passengers are traveling on these two metro lines every day. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA)'s 337 km metro line project 'Metro 2A' and 'Metro 7' are currently operational.


The first phase of 20 km between 'Dahisar - Dahanukarwadi - Aarey' on both these routes was commissioned in April 2022. In January 2023, the second phase entered service and 'Dahisar - Andheri West Metro 2A' and 'Dahisar - Gundvali Metro 7' lines became operational. Overall, both the routes have started running at full capacity.

The 'Metro 2A' and 'Metro 7' routes did not get the response they expected initially. That's why in the beginning, thousands of passengers used to travel through these routes every day. But gradually Mumbaikars started turning to these routes and today the number of daily passengers on both these metro lines has increased to 260,000.


Now the number of passengers on both these lines has crossed the 15 crore mark, the information was given by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL). The total number of passengers on these routes crossed the eight lakh mark in February 2024. So in May 2024, the total number of passengers increased to 10 crores. According to the information provided by MMMOCL, the number of passengers on 'Metro 2A' and 'Metro 7' lines has crossed the 15 crore mark recently. So far 15 crore 84 lakh 81 thousand 589 passengers have traveled through these routes.


It was also said that the response of the passengers to these routes is increasing and all necessary efforts are being made by MMMOCL to make the metro journey of the passengers more easy. Meanwhile, MMMOCL has launched Mumbai 1 card service under integrated ticketing system (National Common Mobility Card) to facilitate travel on 'Metro 2A' and 'Metro 7' lines. This service is also getting good response from passengers. Presently, two lakh 69 thousand 602 passengers are using Mumbai 1 card.
