In order to make the journey of Mumbaikars in the local train more comfortable, the Railways have planned to add 80 more local trains to the new timetable of Western and Central Railways till October 2017. On Monday, Member Traffic Mohammad Jamshed from the Railway Board in Mumbai held a review meeting with officers of Western and Central Railways. In this meeting, the officers informed the increase in new services. Following this meeting, railway minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted about new services.

From October 2, the new timetable will increase 40-40 local trains on Western and Central Railways. 40 services will be expanded on the Central Railway. 4 trans-harbour, 12 on harbour line and 14 services can be extended on the main line. 40 more services are likely to be expanded on Western Railway. Of these, 10 trains will be of 15 coaches.
