With Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal giving an in-principal approval, Mumbaikars and Delhiites will get another Rajdhani express which will soon be flagged off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and will reach its final stop in Delhi.
For commuters travelling from Mumbai to Delhi or vice versa, there are already two Rajdhani express trains running on the tracks and they are operated by Western Railways. However, the new Rajdhani will be under the control of Central Railways.
With a plan to connect cities in Maharashtra and Delhi, the new proposed Rajdhani will run towards Delhi through Nashik and Jalgaon. Both the existing running Rajdhani trains cover only 110 km of the state which is an inconvenience to the people living in other cities of Maharashtra.
