In all these years of Mumbai local’s existence, three fast trains running towards Churchgate won’t stop at Andheri station on the Western Line.

Two trains starting from Goregaon and one from Malad won’t stop at Andheri during the morning peak hours as the new railways time table didn’t go down well with Jogeshwari commuters as six fast trains weren’t supposed to halt there.

So now, to balance it out, three trains will skip halting at Andheri and three will skip Jogeshwari.

These services are the 8:06 am Malad-Churchgate local, 9:05 am Goregaon-Churchgate local and the 9:59 am Goregaon-Churchgate local.

According to reports in TOI, WR's divisional railway manager Mukul Jain said the move will come into effect on Wednesday. "But this is an interim measure and halts at Andheri will be restored once Harbour line trains start operating from Goregaon, with Jogeshwari having an addition of slow services." The Harbour line is scheduled to open by December 2017.
