Now, the railway passengers do not have to worry about their luggage. As the Indian Railways has launched a new initiative called “Mission Amanat” to track the lost luggage or belongings of the travellers.
Under this novel initiative, passengers can track their lost items and easily get them back.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) plays an important role in ensuring the safety of passengers as well as their luggage. However, this initiative has made it easier for them and train passengers to retrieve their lost luggage.
Taking it to Twitter, the Western Railway (WR) stated that RPF has taken initiative to make it easier for passengers to get back their lost luggage. The official uploads details of lost luggage along with photographs on the official website of Western Railway -- http://wr.indianrailways.gov.in -- in the tab of divisions under the link “Mission Amanat – RPF”.

According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in the year 2021, between January and December, the RPF of the Western Railway Department seized and returned goods worth INR 2.58 crores from a total of 1,317 railway passengers.
In another tweet, WR mentioned that it was also conducting regular ticket checks to curb unauthorized travel. From April 2021 to December 2021, fines of INR 68 crores were collected from irregular passengers and INR 41.09 lakhs from cases without masks.
