Mumbai - First escalators and now lifts, railways is progressing and becoming commuter friendly. Railway ministry has decided to install 70 lifts on central and western railway stations. This will help physically challenged, pregnant women and senior citizens to commute smoothly.
The total budget of Rs. 3 crore and 40 lakhs is approved for the same. Out of which, Rs. 1 crore and 85 lakhs will be used for CR while Rs. 1 crore and 55 lakhs will be used for WR. CR will get 40 lifts while WR will get 30 lifts.
