Mumbai: RTO brings in New series for registration of two-wheelers

The MH03EH series for two-wheelers expires at Regional Transport Office, Mumbai (East). Therefore, a new series of registration numbers MH03EJ will be introduced for two-wheelers. Vehicle owners who wish to reserve attractive or preferred registration numbers for their vehicles from this new number series are required to submit an application form in the prescribed format, proof of address, photo ID, PAN card and preferred number to the Regional Transport Office Mumbai (East) or will have to be nationalised.

Bank draft of prescribed fee in favor of RTO Mumbai (East) should be deposited in the Regional Transport Office, Mumbai (East) by 2 pm on October 9, 2023. As per the State Government Notification dated 8 May 2016, in case of more than one application for the same registration number, the one who deposits the highest bank transfer amount in addition to the regular fee will be given the said registration number.

The process of providing attractive and preferred registration numbers has been posted on the notice board of the office. Regional Transport Officer Vinay Ahire has appealed to vehicle owners to apply in person at the office to avoid fraud by unauthorised persons.
